The trademark line, in plain language

Nominative use – showing the Slack logo to say “we integrate with Slack” – is broadly fine and is what every tech site’s logo grid does. What trademark law forbids: using someone’s mark to brand your product, implying endorsement, or modifying marks in ways the owner prohibits (most brand guidelines specify allowed colorways). When in doubt, each major brand publishes usage guidelines – five minutes of reading beats a cease-and-desist.

For your own branding, original marks sidestep all of it: the geometric assets in our catalog carry no trademark baggage, and a restyled mark plus your name is a legitimate starter identity. Registration (if you grow into needing it) is then about your distinctiveness, not someone else’s.
