How to convert HEIC to SVG on any device

On iPhone / Mac (Safari) Open this page in Safari and drop the HEIC straight into the converter – Safari decodes HEIC natively.
On Windows / Chrome In the iPhone Photos app, share the image to yourself via Mail or convert it: Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible makes future shots JPG. Or open the HEIC in Windows Photos and Save As JPG.
Trace and download Drop the image, choose B&W for sketches and signatures, then download your scalable SVG.

Photographing artwork for clean vectorization

The tracer can only be as good as the photo. Shoot straight-on (not at an angle), in daylight or bright even light, and fill the frame with the artwork. Avoid shadows from your own hand or phone – they read as gray smudges that B&W mode then has to threshold away.

For signatures and lettering, dark ink on plain white paper gives the cleanest result. Crop the photo to just the artwork before converting so page edges and table surfaces don’t end up in your vector.

Why won’t my HEIC load in Chrome?

HEIC is Apple’s format and only Safari decodes it in the browser. Convert the photo to JPG first (iPhone: share via Mail, or set Camera → Formats → Most Compatible), then drop the JPG here.

How do I stop my iPhone shooting HEIC?

Settings → Camera → Formats → choose “Most Compatible”. Photos will then save as JPG, which every browser and tool accepts.

Can I vectorize a photo of a whiteboard?

Yes – use Grayscale or B&W mode. Whiteboard markers trace surprisingly well; just photograph straight-on to avoid glare streaks.

Does this work for tattoo designs and lettering?

Very well. Photograph the design flat, trace in B&W mode, and you get clean vector linework that scales to any size for stencils or printing.
