Start in B&W mode – single-color vinyl is the classic logo application. Use Color mode for multi-layer brand marks.
Small-business workhorse
One converted logo file powers window decals, vehicle graphics, branded merch, packaging stickers, and event signage – cut on demand, no print minimums.
Weeding-friendly paths
Cut-tuned tracing avoids the micro-shapes that make vinyl weeding miserable. What gets traced is what you can actually weed.
Private conversion
Brand assets are processed in your browser only – relevant when the logo belongs to a client and an NDA.
STEP BY STEP
How to get your logo onto vinyl
- Convert the cleanest copy Use the largest, sharpest logo file you have. Trace in B&W for one-color vinyl; Color for layered marks.
- Simplify if needed Tiny text and thin flourishes weed badly below ~10mm. Consider a simplified cutting variant of the logo for small applications.
- Upload and size In Design Space, upload the SVG and size it to the real application – measure the laptop, window, or shirt first.
- Cut, weed, transfer Use the right vinyl for the job (removable for windows, HTV for fabric, permanent for vehicles), weed the negative space, apply with transfer tape.
One logo, three vinyl variants
Professional shops keep three versions of a customer’s logo: the full mark for large applications, a simplified mark with thin details thickened for mid-size cuts, and an icon-only version for items under a couple of inches. You can produce all three from one conversion: trace the full logo, then make the simplified variants in our free editor.
For lettering in the logo: cursive and serif fonts under 1cm tall become unweedable confetti. The fix is sizing up, switching the small variant to a sans-serif, or skipping text in the icon version entirely.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can I legally cut any logo?
Cut logos you own or have permission to reproduce. For client work, that permission is usually inherent in the job – but reselling items with brands you don’t own is trademark infringement.
My logo has fine details that won’t weed – help?
Thicken thin strokes in the editor, cut larger, or create a simplified cutting variant. Detail below about 2mm of vinyl is where weeding goes to die.
Which vinyl for which job?
Removable (631-type) for walls and windows, permanent (651-type) for vehicles and dishwasher-adjacent items, HTV for fabric. The SVG cuts identically on all of them.
Multi-color logo – how do layers work?
Convert in Color mode; each color arrives as a separate layer in Design Space. Cut each layer from its vinyl color and stack with transfer tape, lightest first.
